Understanding an option is the first step. Understanding whether it is right for you is a conversation with your clinical team.

06 / Common questions

A few things
worth knowing.

Clear expectations are part of good coordination.

Are you a hospital or medical provider?

No. China Hospital Access is an independent patient coordination agency. We assist with communication and practical arrangements; the hospital and its clinicians provide medical assessment and treatment.

Can you help me explore biodegradable PFO options?

We can help coordinate a request for hospital assessment and questions about options such as MemoSorb. The clinical team determines whether closure is appropriate and which options are suitable and available for your situation.

Can you help me request an appointment with Dr. Hu Haibo?

Yes. We can assist with an appointment request and check his schedule. We share the confirmed arrangements with you before travel.

Will someone accompany me to hospital visits?

In-person accompaniment is part of our coordination service. The appointments covered, language support and team responsibilities are specified in your individual service plan.

How are medical and coordination fees paid?

Medical charges are paid directly to the hospital. Coordination services are quoted separately, with their scope and included arrangements set out in a written plan.

What happens after I return to the United States?

We help organize medical documents and coordinate follow-up communication within the agreed service scope. Your treating clinicians remain responsible for medical advice and ongoing treatment.

A conversation with your doctor

Questions before choosing an option.

Use these questions to help structure a discussion with your clinical team. This is not an individual medical assessment.

  1. Suitability

Is closure appropriate for my medical history and test results? What alternatives should we discuss?

  2. Device selection

Which options are suitable and available? What evidence, limitations and risks should I understand for each?

  3. Ongoing care

What follow-up is needed, and how will care be coordinated when I return home?

We help coordinate hospital communication. The treating clinical team makes the medical decisions.
